Guarded by monitor 16807, Installation 06 has yet to be directly observed. The surface of this ring is said to be barren, lifeless and devoid of life. Why the installation is in such a state is unknown and demands further attention.

This is the Sixth installment in a series of seven, to show what the halos could look like today, while waiting to be fired again.

After much waiting and struggling to get this done, its finally as close to done as its ever going to get. The odd angle of the halo ring and the size of the piece seemed a bit constricting, but i tried to make the best of it and what i ended up with seemed good enough for me. Comments and criticism appreciated, anything to help me make the last one all the better.

wow, absolutely stunning, is the aura of red glowy atmospheric discharge in the model? or photoshopped in? and what programs/rendering systme are you running? this looks like movie poster quality. awesome job!

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. The red glow was added in photoshop, in fact 80% of it was made in photoshop, the halo i rendered with 3DS max, and the nebula was created in apophysis.

what is the apophysis, i noticed under your tools of the trade section, does it help to create fractals and other abstract plasma type colors?

Its a free open source program that allows you to make fractals, very cool, pretty easy to use, check it out
